Lessons of the Masters – Anatomy of the Spirit

by Rachel Cremnitz

Oftentimes over the years I have been taught by the spiritual masters from their books and their spirits. They connect with me through my heart from Spirit. This has often been with masters who are in Spirit at the time of reading. They are great spiritual masters whose power of love can overcome the barriers of time and dimension.

I have often felt that these understandings and experiences are beyond my pay grade. They have furthered and deepened my understandings, but perhaps also I can bring some of what they teach into modern awareness. This is my goal here. So, I attempt to pass on some of what I have been taught in case it is helpful to anyone else.

The most notable examples have been with Paramahansa Yogananda, Sri Yukeswar, Sri Ramakrishna. You will notice that each of these great masters were born in India. This is no coincidence. India has provided the world with a priceless contribution. They moved the world from the idea of God as a theological concept, to an actual personal experience of God.

In the words of Yogananda

India’s priceless contribution to the world, discovered anciently by her rishis, is the science of religion -yoga, “divine union” -by which God can be known, not as a theological concept but as an actual personal experience. Of all scientific knowledge, the yoga science of God realization is of the highest value to man, for it strikes at the root-cause of all human maladies:

The Anatomy of Spirit

Much of what we speak about these days, chakras, pranic tubes, OM can seem like modern discoveries, fresh and new in the new age. Yet these things were described by the ancient Rishis of India, thousands of years before Christ, and by many Spiritual Masters across the centuries. Even in the bible, when we come to understand, we can find the deeper truths behind the words used.

The Pranic Tube

One time on holiday with my husband, I was reading a book by Swami Sri Yukeswar called ‘The Holy Science’. As I was reading it, out of the blue, I felt such a holy power come down through me, such a river or stream of love flowing with such intensity down through my spine. From the top of my head down through my spine and out through my base chakra.

I slunk down in my chair, unable, unwilling to support myself. Not needing to. I was in such a heavenly bliss. The feeling of bodily contentment and love was so ridiculously relaxing and calming. It was the ‘Holy Stream’ of which he spoke in his book that Sri Yukeswar was showing me. I love him so much like a spiritual father for all he has shown me.

The Holy Stream

The ‘Holy Stream’ is the pure spiritual energy that comes down to us from heaven through the top of our head, the crown chakra, and up from the earth through our base chakra. This energy runs through the pranic tube of the spine on which all the chakras are located. It links the experience we have of life through the chakras; their energies combine and bring energy to our physical form.

Creating a Church to God

The next day we were sitting in the car at Tintagel castle. Tired after a long walk the previous day I elected to wait in the car whilst my husband went for a look around and to find some provisions for lunch. Whilst I was sitting there, I have no idea why, but I went into a profound space. This was from my diary written sometime after the event:

“The next day when Sam slipped out, I went into a heavenly mood, the like of which I have not felt since. I was in a place of complete love and surrender where I finally got a feeling of the nature of God. It was so utterly indescribable. So not of any of this world, so far away from form, so far away from words.

But one thing that remained with me is that in that moment or moments I knew that all I wanted to do was to ‘create a church to God’. To bring God to man and man to God must be the only reason. But it was so formless. I did not mean a church or religion. It felt and still feels that the only means I have is I my life, and so I consecrate my life to this.”

I understand now that as we move towards our true spiritual nature, we create a church to God in our own bodies. We feel once more the current of Spirit that runs through us.
