The Origins of Reiki
Reiki healing was first brought to humanity in the early 20th century by a deeply spiritual man by the name of Mikao Usui.
He spent many hours in deep meditation in the mountains of Japan, connecting with the energy of the mountains around him.
He felt the immense healing power of Mother Earth and the natural world around him.
The Birth of Reiki Initiations
As he had a deep desire to help his fellow humankind, Spirit showed him how to use an initiation process to allow others to connect with this energy for their own inner healing.
This worked well as he lived in Japan where initiations had been part of Buddhist practice for thousands of years.
In this way he was able to confer his ability to channel this healing energy to his students.
The Healing Effect of Reiki
Connecting with Mother Earth
The energy of Reiki is the loving energy of creation that has given us the physical matter of our planet. Our planet is a living being, she is our Divine Mother who has given us everything we have, including the mountains, the waters, the trees and everything else on our planet, even our physical bodies.
When we connect with this energy of physical creation, it feels deeply nurturing to us. It gives us a feeling of physical safety and calm, and a deep peacefulness. We feel safe, warm and ‘held’ in this energy so we can slow down and enjoy the present moment of life.
Feeling safe and held in this way helps to stabilize the emotions, bringing calm and balance at difficult times.
At easier times it can take us deeply within to the place of peace that resides in our heart centre. It helps us feel more connected with God/Great Spirit.
Cleansing & Rejuvenating
Reiki cleanses and energises the ‘etheric body’. This is the subtle energy body that carries the energetic blueprint of the physical body. As the etheric body is cleansed and strengthened, it supports physical wellbeing in the body.
Grounding and Calming
The Reiki Ray opens the base and feet chakras and strengthens your energetic connection to Mother Earth. This connection to Mother Earth helps to stabilise the emotions and helps you feel grounded and present in your physical body.
Opens the Heart
The Reiki Ray helps to open the heart to help you connect with yourself on a spiritual level.
As the energy clears away fear from your energy system, you will naturally experience more of your Soul energy, as it is only fear that stands between you and experiencing more of your spiritual nature.
Beyond Reiki - Eternal Light Healing
Since the introduction of Reiki, humanity has undergone a huge spiritual expansion. New, higher frequency energies are now needed as we are able to work at a much deeper level of our consciousness today.
Reiki forms the foundation of the more advanced Eternal Light Healing system which was to come.
