The Origins of Channelled Healing
The use of subtle energies for healing in this way is not new to humankind. In ancient times these energies were used widely for healing, and great Spiritual Masters have always been able to transmit spiritual healing through their hands.
However, this could only be done by a very few whose heart chakras were unusually open, and their intentions very pure.
Where Reiki Came From
In the early part of the 20th century, a great gift was brought to us by Mikao Usui (1865-1926). His Reiki initiations brought to the world a way that a wider range of people could access these healing energies for their healing and spiritual growth.
Mikao Usui
Mikao Usui was born in Japan in 1865. He was a deeply spiritual man, a ‘Master of Spiritual Energies’, with a profound and pure connection to Spirit. He spent many hours in the mountains, in meditative connection with his Spiritual energy.
The Birth of Reiki
Deep within his Soul he found he could feel the Universal Life Force, the creative force that created the matter of the earth, and he could feel the healing power it held. This was the energy we now call Reiki.
He had a deep desire to help his fellow humanity and wished to find a way to help others access this energy for their own healing.
He had incarnated in Japan where the concept of energy initiations and attunements was generally acknowledged as it had been part of Buddhist practice for thousands of years. So, he was shown, through his Spirit, how to use an ‘initiation’ or ‘attunement’ to confer the ability to channel this healing energy to others.
Reiki Spreads Around the World
In the early part of the 20th century, Usui began teaching his students in Japan who undertook his Reiki initiation and his students brought it to the West in the 1930-1940s.
Mikao Usui brought the gift of channelled healing back to humankind. His use of initiations have allowed a wider range of people to access healing energy.
Universal Life-Force
Reiki healing carries the energy of the Universal Life-Force, the force of creation of matter in our universe. This is the energy that Usui was connecting to in the mountains of Japan.
In the beginning of time, it was this energy that created the substance of our earth, her animals, vegetation and our human bodies. It is therefore easy to see how this profound energy is able to cleanse and rejuvenate our energies on all levels of your being.

Because all levels of our being are deeply interconnected, the Reiki Ray brings healing and balance to the emotional, mental and spiritual bodies, helping to restore a greater sense of peace and alignment throughout the whole person.

Reiki enhances spiritual awareness as the energy clears away fear from your energy system that holds you away from experiencing more of your Soul energy and spiritual nature.
When this fear is cleared you facilitates the flow of Universal Love between you (the inner light of you Spirit) and the world; and that feels so good!

Since the introduction of Reiki, humanity has undergone a huge spiritual expansion. New, higher frequency energies are now needed as we are able to work at a much deeper level of our consciousness today.
